GURGAON: A dispute over rash driving in Faridabad’s Ballabgarh escalated dramatically after a youth allegedly opened fire at a man who had asked him to slow down.A police complaint has been filed in the matter.The incident took place on Balaji College Road under the Adarsh Nagar police station limits. The complainant, Vivek, said he was heading to work around 10.30am when he noticed a youth riding a motorcycle recklessly with a young woman seated behind him. When he objected and asked the rider to drive properly, an argument broke out between the two.“The situation escalated quickly, and the youth, along with the woman, started assaulting him,” an officer said.Vivek told police that during the altercation, the youth pulled out a pistol from his bag and pointed it at him. He added that he tried to snatch the weapon to defend himself, and during the scuffle, a shot was fired that grazed his face.Before the accused could fire another round, Vivek managed to take away the pistol. Hearing the gunshot, locals gathered at the spot, prompting the accused and the woman to flee. In their haste, they abandoned their bag, the firearm and the motorcycle at the scene.Police teams reached the spot after receiving information and took the seized items into custody. An officer said, “CCTV footage from the area is being examined to identify and trace the accused. Efforts are underway to arrest both the youth and the woman involved in the incident.”
