Youth climbed a water tank over a land dispute, consumed a poisonous substance while coming down after persuasion

Jhunjhunu: A 27-year-old man, distressed due to a land dispute, climbed on top of a water tank in Sikar‘s Bidodi Badi village Tuesday morning. On receiving information, Balara Station House Officer Kailash Chandra Yadav and his team, Laxmangarh SDO Moharsingh Meena and tehsildar Mukesh Sihag reached the spot and tried to persuade the man, identified as Sanjay Nehra, to come down. The Sikar civil defence team was also called. Late in the evening, Nehra‘s sisters – Suman and Sunita were also called to the spot to persuade him.Finally, around 7:30 pm, when Nehra was coming down, he consumed a poisonous substance. The civil defence team immediately took him to Nawalgarh govt hospital in Jhunjhunu.Tehsildar Sihag said that Nehra had accused some people of refusing to divide his ancestral land and were also harassing him. Nehra had also alleged the administration of not resolving the matter despite repeated complaints. Perturbed by all this, Nehra took took the step.
