Mysuru: The two-day Young Indians Parliament (YiP) 2026, organised by Young Indians (Yi), Mysuru, an initiative of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), concluded on Tuesday. The event saw participation from over 150 students across 13 schools in Mysuru.Student delegates became young parliamentarians participating in simulated parliamentary proceedings, debates, policy discussions and legislative sessions, demonstrating exceptional confidence, leadership, critical thinking and public speaking skills.Dwarika Prasad, provice-chancellor and director, RV University, Mysuru, urged the students to develop a clear vision for their future and work towards achieving it through discipline, learning and perseverance.Gopinath, managing director, Quorum Group of Hotels, appreciated the students for speaking fearlessly, and presenting their ideas with conviction and actively engaging in healthy democratic discussions. Priyanka Sridhar, chair, Young Indians Mysuru, was present.The following awards were presented: Best Parliamentarian – Ajay Kini; Best Speaker – Deekshitha Salagundi; Leadership Excellence Award – Sangam R; Best Member – Ruling Bench – Deekshita Aggarwal; Best Member – Opposition Bench – Aarav Singh; Best Debator – Vihaan P Jain; Most Persuasive Policy Advocate – Aditi Shrinivas; Best Research & Presentation – Manvitha Shivashankar; Innovative Ideas Award – Gouthami Vikram Kurpet; Community Impact Award – Yashmith SG; Most Valuable Participant – Vidyashree; Exemplary Parliamentary Decorum Award – Aninditha Anand; Independent Voice of the House – Dhanvitha; Best Constituency Representative – Ryan Saket Reddy. Best team representative award was given to Manasa Sarovara Pushkarini Vidyashram for its outstanding overall performance.
