Rajkot: A young couple from Madhya Pradesh was found murdered on a farm on the outskirts of Moti Marad village in Dhoraji taluka of Rajkot district on Tuesday morning, just three days after they came here and started working.The deceased, Rohit Chauhan, 17, and his wife, Durga, 22, both residents of Jhabua district, worked as farm labourers.Rajkot Rural Local Crime Branch police inspector Janaksinh Rao said Rohit’s father-in-law, Maliya Parmar, was cultivating land at the farm in the village. As Parmar had travelled to his native place, Rohit and Durga were called to look after the farm and work there over the past three days.Police suspect that on the night of July 13, unidentified persons entered the farm and attacked the couple with a blunt object, inflicting head injuries that resulted in their deaths.The police registered a case of murder against unidentified persons, and an investigation has been launched.Police said they are probing the case from multiple angles, as the motive behind the double murder remains unknown.Farm owner Ramesh Bhut told the media persons that Rohit and Durga were married only two months ago. He said he discovered the couple lying in pools of blood when he arrived at the farm on Tuesday morning.
