Kanpur: A one-day ‘Awareness and sensitization workshop’ on ‘Kisan Sarathi 2.0′ was organised at ICAR-ATARI (Agricultural Technology Application Research Institute), Zone-III, Kanpur, in collaboration with ICAR-Indian Agricultural Statistics Research Institute, New Delhi.The main objective of the workshop was to provide technical training to scientists of Krishi Vigyan Kendras for the effective use of the Kisan Sarathi platform. More than 100 participants participated in the workshop.The programme was inaugurated by director, ATARI, Kanpur. Chief guest Sanjay Singh, director general, UPCAR, Lucknow, while highlighting the role of digital technologies in agriculture, said that it can lead to an increase in farmers’ income and productivity. He also said that impact analysis of farmers connecting with platforms like Kisan Sarathi is extremely necessary so that it can be ascertained what actual benefits farmers are receiving from it.In the technical sessions, a demonstration of the use of the Kisan Sarathi mobile application was given, and various methods of delivering effective advisory to farmers were discussed.
