Pune: A 26-year-old worker at a private company in Chakan died after being hit by an iron angle, while being moved by a crane in the company premises. It occurred on Aug 2. Chakan police on Saturday registered a case of causing death by negligence against the crane operator.Police identified the deceased as Ajay Madanal of Chakan. Madanal was working at a fastener manufacturing company in Chakan MIDC. “On Aug 2, around 6pm, the crane operator was moving an iron angle from one location to another on the company’s shop floor. While doing so, it hit another angle and fell on Madanal, who was passing by,” a police officer said.Madanal sustained severe injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. An accidental death case was registered after the incident. “After the investigation, a case was registered against the crane operator,” the officer added.
