Dungarpur: A shortage of commercial LPG cylinders forced organisers to use traditional wood-fired stoves to prepare food for nearly 13,000 people ahead of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma’s public assembly in Dungarpur Monday as part of Rajasthan Diwas celebrations.Local authorities said cooking for the gathering called for around 30 commercial LPG cylinders, but only 3 to 4 were available because of the ongoing supply crisis.“We were left with no choice but to arrange wood to prepare food for the people,” Dungarpur district supply officer, Om Prakash, said, adding that using domestic cylinders for cooking on such a large scale would have triggered a controversy.“As a DSO, I can tell you that the supply of domestic LPG cylinders is adequate, but there is no supply of commercial cylinders at the moment,” he said. tnn
