T’puram: The association of Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) has stated that those who insulted their stir will not receive votes. M A Bindu, state general secretary of Kerala ASHA Health Workers Association (KAHWA), said that no previous govts had shown such an anti-worker attitude as the present govt. She also noted that the KAHWA took a clear position in the Nilambur by-election, adding that their stand was not to vote for the govt’s candidate. “We adopted the same position in the local body elections, and we are continuing it in the assembly elections too. We only demanded what was promised in the govt’s manifesto. This govt no longer deserves to be re-elected,” Bindu said. ASHAs had launched their protest on Feb 10 last year raising various demands, including an increase in honorarium, immediate disbursal of pending honorarium and incentives, and provision of retirement benefits and pension.
