Coimbatore: Delhi Chief minister Rekha Gupta on Thursday said Tamil Nadu chief minister M K Stalin was the main culprit in the Trichy woman suicide case.Speaking to reporters while campaigning for Coimbatore North constituency candidate Vanathi Seenivasan here, she said women were not safe in Tamil Nadu under Stalin’s regime. She said Stalin should have mourned the woman’s death instead of protesting against delimitation. She claimed that the Stalin govt didn’t want women to progress and said women across the state should raise their voice against him. She accused Stalin and his party members of insulting women. Referring to the Trichy incident, she said DMK cadres insulted a woman when she asked for an Rs8,000 coupon that was being distributed to voters. She accused the party of violating the model code of conduct, misleading people with fake coupons, and attempting to buy votes. She said women of all ages were not safe under the present regime. On delimitation, Rekha said it would bring more women to parliament and give them a greater role in the country’s decision-making process. She said Stalin and his party didn’t want women to move forward in life.
