Vadodara: A 58-year-old woman died after a speeding truck allegedly hit her two-wheeler on National Highway-48 near Dashrath village on Thursday morning.The victim, Hema Pandya, was on her way to work when the truck struck her near the Dashrath village bridge. She fell from her two-wheeler, suffered grievous injuries and died on the spot.Chhani police have registered a case against the truck driver, identified as Vikas Kumar Sigmunda, a resident of Jharkhand, and launched an investigation.The accident comes even as Vadodara city police have been running a special drive to curb road accidents on the NH-48 stretch.
