Krishnagiri: In a shocking case of double suicide, a woman and her son jumped into the Thandarai lake near Denkanikottai, in Krishnagiri district on Sunday night.Witnesses said a woman and a man parked their car near the lake and suddenly leapt into the water. They alerted Denkanikottai police, who rushed to the spot. Police, along with fire and rescue personnel, recovered the bodies early on Monday morning.Following inquiry, police identified the deceased as Manjula, 56, wife of Mathappan from Upparappalli village near Thally, and her 30-year-old son Rajasekar.“A letter found inside the car suggested a land dispute may have driven them to take the extreme step,” said a police officer. However, police are continuing to probe if the suicide was solely due to property issues or if other factors were involved.Denkanikottai police have registered a case and are investigating further.
