Ahmedabad: A woman approached the Abhayam women helpline earlier this week to seek intervention to end her personal and professional relationship with her business partner. The man allegedly developed a sexual relationship with her and refused to part ways in business despite her attempts.“The woman started her interior design business with the man about 5 years ago. The man was married at that time. However, over the period, they developed a personal relationship, and the man assured her that he would leave his wife and child for her. She, however, realized that he was not going to follow through on his words. Her family started looking for a match for her,” said a counsellor.The woman told her fiancé about her relationship and, on his suggestion, wanted to end the business partnership with the man. The counsellors said that the man refused to do so and also threatened her with fraud and breach of trust cases.“The woman claimed that the man was involved in account discrepancies, but she overlooked that aspect due to their relationship. When the man refused to budge, she sought help. He was counselled and appraised of his legal standing. He then decided to comply and assured that he would not approach the woman for business or personal relations,” said a counsellor.
