Jaipur: A 57-year-old woman was allegedly robbed of her gold chain at knifepoint while walking to a temple in Jaipur’s Mansarovar area Saturday.The victim, Bhavna, a resident of Kiran Path, was targeted around 7.13 am in a lane near the Bank of India, said Mansarovar police station SI Mukesh Kumar.According to police, Bhavna was on her way to a nearby temple when the accused allegedly began following her. After trailing her for some distance, he intercepted her, threatened her with a knife and snatched the gold chain from her neck before fleeing through the narrow lanes of the locality.The woman raised an alarm and briefly chased the accused, but he managed to escape.The victim lodged an FIR Sunday, following which police registered a case and began an investigation.Police inspected the spot and examined CCTV footage from the area. Investigators said the entire incident was captured on camera, and efforts are underway to identify and trace the accused.
