Prayagraj: Pratapgarh police on Monday arrested a woman and her nephew for allegedly killing a 35-year-old widow in Sarehua village.The deceased– Puja Gupta– was found strangled to death inside her house on Saturday. Those arrested were Manju Gupta (39) and her nephew Sonu Gupta (28) of Chamrupur Shuklan. Police said Manju and Sonu strangled Puja to death because she used to talk to her husband despite repeated warnings. Manju feared that her husband would leave her for Puja. On Saturday, Manju and Sonu arrived at Puja’s house when she was alone and had an altercation. It soon turned into a scuffle. The duo allegedly strangled Puja to death and escaped. The killing came to light when Puja’s seven-year-old son entered the room and found his mother dead. An FIR was lodged on the complaint of Puja’s mother-in-law.
