Rajkot: A woman riding pillion with her husband and young son was allegedly molested by two men who also assaulted the couple for “sitting too close to each other” near Matuki Chowk on Wednesday afternoon.The woman, 22, lodged a complaint at Rajkot Taluka police station, against the two men, who are yet to be identified.According to the complaint, around 3pm the woman, her husband and their minor son were travelling on a two-wheeler towards Hudco. As they reached Matuki Chowk, two men on a motorcycle blocked their way. One of the men questioned the woman’s husband about the couple “sitting close on the motorcycle”. When the husband replied that they were married, the pillion rider got down, grabbed him by the collar and assaulted him.When the woman intervened, the duo abused her, touched her inappropriately and pushed her. Their ordeal ended after the couple’s son began crying, drawing the attention of people nearby. The two men fled on their motorcycle.Police said CCTV footage from the area is being examined to identify the accused. A case was registered for molestation, assault, criminal intimidation and other applicable sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
