Madhepura: A 45-year-old woman was killed after a speeding vehicle crashed into her house near the Eastern Bypass Road in ward no. 16 of Madhepura town late Wednesday night. The deceased was identified as Radha Devi, wife of Shankar Sah, a local resident.According to police, Radha Devi was sitting on a wooden cot in the verandah of her thatched house when the incident occurred. A speeding four-wheeler rammed into the house, leaving her critically injured. Locals rushed to the spot after hearing the crash and took her to Sadar hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.Four persons, including the driver, were travelling in the vehicle at the time of the accident. Locals detained two of them, including the driver, while the other two managed to flee. Police reached the spot soon after and took the detained persons into custody. The vehicle involved in the accident has been seized.The arrested have been identified as Kundan Yadav (24), a resident of Godhaila village under Bharrahi police station area in Madhepura district, and Bhim Sen (32), a resident of Puri district in Odisha. Both are said to be working with a road construction agency.Police said the accused were allegedly inebriated at the time of the accident, which is suspected to have caused the crash. They were also taken to hospital for medical examination and treatment.
