Abohar: A young woman’s body was found hanging in a paying guest (PG) accommodation behind the bus stand in Abohar town of Fazilka district on Wednesday.The victim was reportedly identified as 28-year-old Geeta, a resident of Arniwala village in Fazilka. She was working at a cinema hall in Abohar.Her body was found hanging from a noose in her room at the PG past midnight on Wednesday when an acquaintance of the woman arrived there, claiming that she was not well and he wanted to see her.When the door was opened, the woman’s body was found hanging, following which the police were informed.The police sent the body to a hospital for a post-mortem examination and started investigating the reasons behind the suicide. They are also trying to ascertain how the young man came to know that the woman was unwell.Meenu Ahuja, the PG owner, stated that Geeta was living at her facility for about a year. She said, “Geeta returned to the PG at 9:30 pm on Tuesday, mentioning that she was going to bed. Around 1:30 am, Ravi, an acquaintance residing in Balaji Colony, knocked at the door. Geeta’s father had introduced Ravi to me. For this reason, I opened the door to Geeta’s room. When we entered the room to check on Geeta, we found her body hanging.“Maninder Singh, in charge, Abohar City-1 police station, stated that Ravi was in a relationship with Geeta for some time. “Last night, he had an argument with Geeta over the phone, during which she threatened to commit suicide and hung up the.
