Kanpur: A 24-year-old woman in Chakeri on Wednesday registered an FIR against her maternal aunt and uncle for forcibly pushing her into prostitution and extorting Rs 1.50 lakh from her.The victim, a resident of Sanigawan in the Chakeri police station area, alleged that her mother died in 2024. After this, her maternal aunt and uncle, who lived in the neighborhood, mixed intoxicants in her food, rendering her unconscious. She further alleged that a young man was sent into the room and her obscene video was recorded. Using that video to threaten her with defamation, the accused allegedly forced her into prostitution.The victim further alleged that on Sept 29, 2024, her marriage was solemnized. However, six months later, her aunt once again demanded money and pressured her to return to prostitution.According to the victim, she stole around Rs 1.50 lakh from her in-laws’ home over 20 months and gave it to maternal aunt and uncle.The maternal aunt also threatened to have her eight-month-old child killed. Exhausted by the constant demands for money and threats, she approached police commissioner, Raghubir Lal, on Wednesday.ACP Chakeri, Abhishek Pandey said, “An investigation is underway and further action will be taken on the basis of the probe.”
