Ludhiana: Two unidentified youths allegedly robbed a woman doctor at knifepoint and fled with her vehicle in the Bhamian Road area on Tuesday evening. Police stated the incident occurred between 7 pm and 8 pm on March 31, while the victim, Dr. Avneet Kaur, was learning to drive her white Hyundai Creta. According to her complaint, she had reached a spot near a local cremation ground and was reversing the vehicle to turn back when the motorcycle-borne accused intercepted her. The duo allegedly threatened her with a sharp-edged weapon and issued death threats before snatching the SUV.The complainant informed the police that the assailants subsequently fled toward Tajpur Road. Following the report, officers from the Meharban police station reached the scene and initiated a probe. A formal case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Police teams have been deployed to trace the accused, with officials scanning CCTV footage from the area and adjoining routes to identify suspects and track their escape path. Police sources added that alerts have been issued at key entry and exit points of the city to apprehend the culprits promptly. Local sources expressed surprise at the brazen nature of the robbery, suggesting that the police should increase patrolling in such vulnerable areas to prevent future crimes.
