Udupi: A woman, who resided at a special school in Karkala for the past two years, died at Wenlock District Hospital in Mangaluru after reportedly suffering from suspected food poisoning. The deceased is Mohini,32.According to the complaint filed by Srinivasa,39, a resident of Ucchangi Nagar in Karkala taluk, his sister Mohini stayed at a special school in Ayyappanagar for the past two years.Around 10 am on Feb 21, Mohini was suspected to have food poisoning. She was initially taken to the primary health centre in Nakre for treatment, and was later shifted to the Karkala Taluk Hospital for further medical care.As her condition worsened, she was admitted to Wenlock hospital in Mangaluru on Feb 22 for advanced treatment. However, she died while undergoing treatment at the hospital on Tuesday. Based on the complaint, Karkala Town police registered an unnatural death report (UDR) under Section 194 of the BNSS, and further investigation is on.
