Gurgaon: A 45-year-old woman allegedly died by suicide at her residence in Sector 88 while her family members were participating in Holi celebrations downstairs. Police said they found the woman hanging in a bedroom of her flat in Smart World.A preliminary inquiry indicates that she had been battling depression for a long time. Officers said that no foul play is suspected and the case is being treated as a suicide linked to prolonged mental health issues. She lived with her husband and her 20-year-old daughter in their own flat in the high-rise residential complex. The family, originally from Maharashtra, has been residing in Gurgaon for some time. One of her children studies in Bengaluru.Police said statements from family members are being recorded. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination and further legal formalities are underway.
