Surat: A 22-year-old woman and her two-year-old daughter were killed in a road accident in Bhestan on Saturday after the moped they were travelling on was allegedly hit by a dumper truck. Two others riding the vehicle survived the crash. Police later arrested the truck driver.The deceased were identified as Ruksar Saiyed and her two-year-old daughter. According to police, Ruksar had visited her parents’ home a day earlier for Tajiya observances and was returning home. Before leaving, she informed her husband that she was on her way back and that her brother would drop her home.Preliminary investigation revealed that Ruksar was travelling with her two daughters, aged two and four, while her brother, Imran, was riding the vehicle. The family was passing through the Bhestan area when the dumper truck allegedly collided with the two-wheeler, throwing all four onto the road.Investigators said Ruksar and her younger daughter came under the rear wheels of the dumper and were crushed to death. Imran and the four-year-old child survived and were shifted to a hospital, where their condition was reported to be stable.Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident, including the truck’s speed and the sequence of events leading to the collision. The dumper driver, identified as Ashish Dubey (32), was arrested during the investigation.
