Colva: The South Goa additional sessions court convicted a woman for the murder of her husband in a 2019 case.Additional sessions judge Ram Subrai Prabhu Dessai on Thursday convicted Sandhya Chauhan, a native of Uttar Pradesh, for killing her husband Kaushalendra Pratap Singh. Singh, who worked as an aircraft handler at Dabolim airport, was residing at Vasco with his family.According to the prosecution, the accused killed her husband following a verbal altercation related to his alleged heavy drinking and frequent abuse. During the quarrel, Chauhan reportedly struck Singh multiple times on the head with a wooden scantling, causing him grievous injuries that led to his death.The couple’s minor daughter was the sole eyewitness to the incident. The custody of the child was not given to either side of the family, and she was placed at Apna Ghar Ashram in Agra.
