New Delhi: A 27-year-old woman from Manipur has alleged that a bike taxi rider associated with a cab aggregator assaulted and abused her during a ride in May. Police registered a case this month and have bound down the rider, Sushil Kumar (24), claiming the dispute stemmed from an argument over speeding and the fare. The rider allegedly made unnecessary stops to buy tobacco, repeatedly spat, some of which landed on her feet, and drove slowly. When she objected, he allegedly dropped her before her destination, abused her, slapped her, and left without collecting the fare. She also alleged that the rider repeatedly called her and sent abusive messages after the incident.
