Times News NetworkKanpur: A woman accused four people, including a hotel manager, of gang rape at a hotel in Kalyanpur, alleging that the accused had forcibly made her drink alcohol before committing the act, police said.The incident was not confirmed in the preliminary police investigation, and further investigation is being carried out. According to a student resident of Govind Nagar, she had gone to a hotel in Kalyanpur on Sunday late evening for some personal work. It is alleged that the hotel manager forcibly made her drink alcohol and along with his associates, gang-raped her.She somehow managed to escape from there and saved her life. She alleged that the accused kept chasing and attempting to catch her till the road. After receiving information on 112, Kalyanpur police station personnel reached the spot and began an investigation. The victim stated that before the police arrived, the remaining accused had fled from the scene. Police have taken the hotel manager into custody and begun questioning.On Monday, the DCP (West) reached Kalyanpur police station and gathered information about the incident from the woman. She submitted a written complaint at the police station demanding action. DCP SM Qasim Abidi stated that the woman described the incident as occurring on Sunday night. He said CC footage was reviewed as electronic evidence, and the incident and allegations were not confirmed in the preliminary investigation.“The woman has been sent for a medical examination. Action will be taken after investigation based on the written complaint and medical report,” the DCP said.
