NEW DELHI: Indian men’s cricket team are set to tour Sri Lanka for a two-Test series in the second half of August this year as part of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship (WTC) cycle, Cricbuzz reported on Monday.The exact dates for the series have not yet been finalised, but Cricbuzz cited sources in Sri Lanka Cricket to say that the matches are expected to be played between August 15 and 27.There is still no confirmation on the three T20 Internationals that were earlier expected to be part of the tour.The two Tests will take place after the Lanka Premier League, which ends on August 9. The identified window for the series has been shared with all stakeholders, including the Indian team.BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia has travelled to Sri Lanka as part of an ICC delegation to review the situation in Sri Lanka Cricket, which was recently dissolved by the government led by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake. An interim body named the Sri Lanka Cricket Transformation Committee has since been appointed.India will resume international cricket on June 6 with a Test against Afghanistan national cricket team in Mullanpur, followed by a three-match ODI series. India will then tour Ireland, England and Zimbabwe before travelling to Sri Lanka.India are currently fifth in the World Test Championship (WTC) standings with four wins and four defeats in nine matches. They have 52 points and a points percentage of 48.15.Sri Lanka are fourth in the standings, although they have played only two matches in the current 2025-2027 WTC cycle.
