Thiruvananthapuram: BJP state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar has said that he will stop calling Rahul Gandhi a fraud only if he apologises for calling Narendra Modi a traitor and for all the lies against Election Commission. He was responding to the chief minister’s comment on carrying out personal attacks against Rahul.In a social media post, Chandrasekhar said that he normally does not indulge in personal attacks, but he cannot refrain from doing so in the case of Rahul.“Since being voted out of power in 2014 amid public anger, Rahul’s politics has relied solely on falsehoods, insults and division. His approach has been to constantly run campaigns that weaken the nation and its institutions, hurl abuse at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and spread misinformation against the govt and BJP. Meanwhile, in Congress-ruled states, the corruption and misgovernance associated with the UPA era continue to repeat themselves,” Chandrasekhar wrote on X.“That is why I have no hesitation in saying that Rahul’s politics is built on deceit and corruption, and in calling him a swindler,” he said and added that his latest drama, branding India’s elected Prime Minister and the Election Commission as “traitors”, deserves outright condemnation.Anyone who reads the clear statement issued yesterday by the Election Commission of India will understand that Rahul is a fraud, Chandrasekhar said.“Respect in politics is not something to be demanded; it must be earned through sincere work and service to the nation. In Rahul’s dynastic political career, he has done nothing to deserve it,” Chandrasekhar said.“Even your stand on #SIR does not align with that of senior leaders in your own party. No matter how loudly you protest, fake, proxy, and illegal voters must be removed from the electoral rolls. Always. Every single time,” he added.
