Mumbai: Molbio Diagnostics shares surged 16% on Thursday to Rs 1,456 apiece on the NSE, extending gains for a second straight session and taking the stock’s rally to nearly 30% in two days.

The stock has now climbed around 80% from its IPO price of Rs 810, after making a strong market debut in August with a 21% premium at Rs 980.

Molbio Diagnostics‘ Rs 940 crore IPO, which comprised a fresh issue of 25 lakh shares worth Rs 200 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of 92 lakh shares valued at Rs 739.70 crore, was subscribed more than 70 times during the three-day bidding period.

Molbio Diagnostics is a global molecular diagnostics company engaged in developing, manufacturing, and commercialising rapid diagnostic solutions for infectious and non-communicable diseases.

Molbio Diagnostics’ leadership in molecular diagnostics, expansion-led growth strategy and attractive industry prospects support the investment case, Shivani Nyati, Head of Wealth at Swastika Investmart, had said after the debut. While the listing valuation remains reasonable relative to peers, investors should remain disciplined following the sharp initial gain, the analyst had said, maintaining her positive view on the stock.

“The company enjoys a strong leadership position in the molecular diagnostics segment, supported by a scalable device-and consumables business model, favorable industry tailwinds, significant growth headroom, and strategic acquisitions,” Geojit Investments had said in its IPO note. It had a ‘Subscribe’ rating for the IPO for investors with a medium- to long-term investment horizon, backed by robust fundamentals and a positive long-term outlook.

Molbio Diagnostics Q1 earnings

Earlier this week, Molbio Diagnostics posted a profit of Rs 52.74 crore for the first quarter of FY27, as against a net loss of Rs 23.94 crore in the year-ago period. Total income of the firm stood at Rs 411.48 crore in the quarter under review, from Rs 100.47 crore reported in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year.

“Following our listing on August 17, 2026, deployment of the net issue proceeds is underway across capex for automation and building our R&D facility in Bengaluru. We remain focused on disciplined execution, sustained R&D intensity and improving cash flow quality as our international and acquired businesses scale,” said Molbio Diagnostics CEO Sriram Natarajan.
