Kolkata: With barely a few weeks to go before the festive season begins and municipal polls are held across the state, the state administration has reshuffled 23 key police officers, including several senior officials of Kolkata Police, CID and Bidhannagar Police, reassigning them to new posts.Debendra Prakash Singh, currently an ACP of Kolkata Police, has been posted as IG, IB in North Bengal. Suryapratap Yadav, JCP (Traffic), Kolkata, has been appointed DIG, IB in Bengal police. Sparsha Neelangi, DC of Kolkata Police’s enforcement branch, has been transferred to KP detective department as DC.IPS officer Sudhirkumar Neelkantham will take over as the new ACP of Kolkata Police. Bholanath Pandey, previously DIG, IB in the state police, has been made the new JCP (Traffic) in Kolkata. Sukhendu Hira, who was serving as DIG (Security) in the state police, has been brought in as JCP (Security), Kolkata Police.In other important transfers, IPS officer Neelu Sherpa has been appointed IGP of WBPHIDCL, replacing his earlier role as IGP of SCRB. Shankhashubhra Chakraborty, previously IG of Home Guards, has now been posted as IGP of SCRB.IPS officer Debarshi Dutta, who was DIG of WBPHIDCL, has been transferred as Joint Commissioner in Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate. IPS officer Nima Norbu Bhutia has been moved from Commanding Officer of the 10th Battalion of the state armed police to the post of SS in CID. IPS officer Dhritiman Sarkar, who was SS in IB, has been reassigned as SS of CID in Malda. Quazi Samsuddin Ahamed, presently serving as DC Traffic Siliguri, will take over as DC DD Bidhannagar Police.IPS officer Soumyadip Bhattacharya will become the new DC of Kolkata Police’s cyber wing. He had been serving in the armed police. IPS officer Kazi Samsuddin Ahmed, formerly DC of Traffic in Siliguri, has been appointed the new DC, DD of Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate. IPS officer Kuntal Bandyopadhyay has been made the new DC of Barrackpore Police Commissionerate. WBPS officer Kaustubhdipta Acharya has been shifted from the post of Additional SP in Darjeeling to Additional SP in Jaigaon, Alipurduar.Among other WBPS officers’ appointments, Purnima Sherpa will be the new Additional SP of Kalimpong, Abhishek Ray will take charge as Additional SP of Birbhum, Manabendra Das has been posted as Additional SP of Mathabhanga, and Kunal Barnabas will serve as the new Additional SP of Malda Rural.Among other WBPS officers’ appointments, Purnima Sherpa will be the new Additional SP of Kalimpong, Abhishek Ray will take charge as Additional SP of Birbhum, Manabendra Das has been posted as Additional SP of Mathabhanga, and Kunal Barnabas will serve as the new Additional SP of Malda Rural.
