The chief minister also said he is likely to attend a dinner hosted during the BRICS Summit in Delhi on Saturday.
Adhikari said he has received a proposal from DRDO for a defence project in East Midnapore district’s coastal belt. He did not share more information on the project.
Adhikari said Anant Ambani had called on Thursday and expressed the group’s eagerness to invest in Bengal. “Anant Ambani called me yesterday in this regard, and the Reliance group wants to invest in West Bengal. I will visit Mumbai after the Ganesh festival and meet them,” the chief minister said. On the DRDO project, he said, “I responded immediately to confirm and move forward with this significant step for West Bengal’s development. This was lying since the days of the previous chief minister, who did not reply.”
Bengal is also receiving investment from the Adani Group. Chairman Gautam Adani is set to visit the state later this month to lay the foundation stone of a 2,000-bed hospital in the state. Adhikari said he would attend the foundation stone-laying ceremony.
Meanwhile, the Bengal government has decided to provide land to 33 industries before the Durga Puja this year. An event will be held before the festival in which prominent businessmen from the state will be invited. Adhikari said the aim is to create a more industry-friendly environment in the state.
