NEW DELHI: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall on Tuesday in parts of northeast India, West Bengal and Bihar, while several states are likely to witness thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds over the next few days. Meanwhile, Delhi-NCR is expected to see no significant change in temperatures, with hot and humid conditions set to continue.The weather office has issued alerts for multiple states, warning of intense rainfall spells, thunderstorms and strong winds in rain-prone regions. Some areas may experience heavy downpours accompanied by lightning activity as the monsoon remains active over parts of eastern and northeastern India.Heavy rain, thunderstorms likely in several statesThe IMD has predicted isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall over northeast India, West Bengal and Bihar during the next three days. East Uttar Pradesh may also receive heavy rainfall at isolated places over the next four to five days.Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and rain are expected in parts of Odisha, where the weather department has issued a yellow alert in several districts. Similar conditions are likely to continue for the next few days.The IMD has issued a warning for fishermen in the Arabian Sea as strong winds are expected over parts of the central and eastern Arabian Sea.Wind speeds may reach up to 55 kmph in some areas, leading to rough sea conditions. Fishermen have been advised to avoid venturing into affected areas.Delhi-NCR weather tomorrowDelhi is likely to witness continued hot weather, with the IMD forecasting no significant change in maximum temperatures over the next seven days.Residents may experience warm and humid conditions, with no major rainfall activity expected during this period.Tamil Nadu weather forecastThe IMD has predicted moderate rainfall over Western Ghats districts of Tamil Nadu until July 16. However, most other parts of the state are likely to remain largely dry.A trough along the Tamil Nadu coast is influencing weather conditions. Maximum temperatures across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry may rise by up to 3 degrees Celsius above normal, leading to hotter conditions in several areas.West Bengal and Bihar rain alertAn active monsoon system is expected to bring heavy rainfall to parts of West Bengal, particularly the sub-Himalayan districts, until July 14.Several southern districts, including Bankura, Birbhum, Purba Bardhaman, Paschim Bardhaman, Nadia and Murshidabad, may also receive heavy rainfall.Bihar is likely to witness heavy rain spells during the next few days, with isolated intense showers possible in some areas.Odisha thunderstorm warningOdisha is expected to receive thunderstorms, lightning and rainfall over the next four days.The IMD has issued a yellow alert, advising residents to remain cautious during thunderstorms. Rainy conditions are likely to continue in parts of the state for the coming days.Rajasthan weather forecastMost parts of Rajasthan are expected to witness weak monsoon activity over the next week, with largely dry weather conditions likely to prevail.Western Rajasthan, including parts of the Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions, may remain mostly dry.
