NEW DELHI: Heavy rainfall is expected to continue across several states over the next few days, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasting intense showers, thunderstorms and lightning in parts of Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Himachal Pradesh and the Northeast, also predicted extremely heavy rain over parts of Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya, which could affect neighbouring districts of Assam.
Northeast weather tomorrow
The IMD has forecast extremely heavy rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, over parts of Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya over the next few days. The weather system could impact Assam districts bordering the two states, including Charaideo, Sivasagar, Jorhat and Golaghat. A yellow alert has also been issued for parts of Nagaland.
Uttar Pradesh weather tomorrow
Heavy rain is likely at isolated places across eastern and western Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday. Widespread rain and thundershowers are expected to continue, with heavy showers likely in parts of the state through August 6. While eastern Uttar Pradesh may continue to receive isolated heavy rain on August 7, no heavy rain warning has been issued for western Uttar Pradesh on that day.
Himachal Pradesh weather tomorrow
The weather office has forecast widespread rainfall across Himachal Pradesh until August 7. On Wednesday, heavy rain is likely at isolated places in Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kangra and Shimla. The IMD has advised travellers, especially those visiting hilly areas, to remain cautious as heavy rain, low clouds and mist could reduce visibility.
Kerala weather tomorrow
Kerala is expected to continue receiving heavy rainfall on Wednesday. The IMD has also warned of thunderstorms, lightning, squally weather and strong surface winds across parts of the state. Similar weather conditions are likely to persist until August 8.
Delhi-NCR weather tomorrow
No major weather warning has been issued for Delhi-NCR in the latest forecast. However, residents can expect generally cloudy skies with the possibility of light rain or thunderstorms in some areas.
IMD’s latest forecast for the next few days
The southwest monsoon remains active over large parts of the country, bringing widespread rainfall to central, northern and northeastern India. According to the IMD, wet weather is likely to continue across several states over the next few days.
