Pune: The water supply to all parts of Pimpri Chinchwad will remain shut today in the evening as the water supply department of the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation will undertake civil and electrical works at Sector 23 at Nigdi water purification center, along with maintenance of key components of the city’s distribution network.A senior PCMC official said the evening water supply across the twin city will remain completely suspended on Feb 23. The impact is likely to continue the next day and the residents are expected to face irregular and low-pressure water supply on the morning of Feb 24. Pimpri Chinchwad gets alternate water supply and this water cut will force residents to store more water that can last for at least two days.The water supply department has appealed to citizens to store adequate water in advance and use it sparingly during the shutdown period. “We request residents to cooperate with the civic administration and bear with the temporary inconvenience. Efforts will be made to complete the works on time and restore normal supply at the earliest,” said Vikrant Bagade, additional municipal commissioner, PCMC.
