Prayagraj: The Institution of Engineers (India) Prayagraj Local Centre organised a seminar on “Sustainable Water Resources” under the aegis of the Environmental Engineering Division Board on Saturday.General manager of Jalkal Vibhag, Kumar Gaurav, attended as the chief guest and stressed on the need for water conservation and preventing wastage of water resources.He said that careless exploitation of water resources could create serious challenges for future generations. He emphasised the need for public participation in implementing water conservation policies.Chairman of the institution, Prof. Avanish Kumar Dubey, highlighted the limited availability of accessible freshwater and warned against pollution and overexploitation. He called for coordinated efforts by govt agencies, industries and citizens to ensure sustainable water management.Keynote speaker, Dharmveer Yadav from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad, discussed advanced technologies for sustainable water treatment, while Vethathirri Ramanujam Srinivasan spoke on converting wastewater from food industries into fish feed through microbial bioconversion systems.
