Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s short visit to the United Nations General Assembly was met with hostility in New York City.
At least 100 people protesting against Netanyahu’s visit were detained. Among them were the Oscar-winning actress Susan Sarandon and Emmy-winning actress Hannah Einbinder.
Dozens of delegates walked out when Netanyahu headed to the stage. In response to the walkout, he said: “If there are any other moral cowards who haven’t left the hall, please do so now”.
