NEW DELHI: Kerala minister OJ Janeesh’s vehicle was allegedly attacked by members of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) during a protest in Kannur on Thursday.The incident took place while the minister was travelling to Kasaragod after attending a programme organised in connection with the Archaeology Department. DYFI activists reportedly stopped the vehicle during the protest.A video of the incident purportedly showing DYFI activists surrounding the minister’s vehicle has surfaced. Protesters can be seen crowding around the vehicle and hitting it as the car remains surrounded by the group.The Youth Congress alleged that stones were used to attack the car. People accompanying the minister said the vehicle’s flagpole and rain guard were damaged in the incident.Janeesh is the state minister for Sports, Archaeology and Museums.The exact reason for the protest and details of any police action in connection with the incident were not immediately available.
