Prayagraj: Sleuths of the Special Task Force (STF) on Monday arrested a wanted cattle smuggler in Pratapgarh.STF sleuths said Prathavipal Saroj of Pratapgarh was wanted in connection with a case registered against him under sections 3/5A/5B/8 of the Prevention of Cows Slaughter Act and section 11 of the Prevention of Animal Cruelty Act at Saiyadraja police station in Chandauli. He carried a Rs 50,000 cash reward on his head. Saroj told police that he worked in a Delhi-based candle manufacturing unit. After retirement, he took a loan for a mini truck for his livelihood but was unable to repay instalments. It was then that he met some members of Bihar-based gang and started smuggling cattle to Bihar from UP. TNN
