ABOUT

Wanaparthy is one of the 116 municipalities that went to the polls in the Telangana Local Body Elections 2026. The municipality consists of 15 wards and is spread across 52.7 sq km, with an estimated total population of 91104 people. Of the total 54982 registered voters, 27561 are male and 27421 are female. Wanaparthy’s population comprises 9.71 percent Scheduled Caste and 5.3 percent Scheduled Tribe communities.

Apart from the 116 municipalities, seven Municipal Corporations comprising 414 wards in Telangana also went to the polls.

POLL DATES

The gazette notification for the Wanaparthy Municipality was issued on January 28, 2026 (Wednesday), the last date of scrutiny of nominations was January 31, 2026 (Saturday) and the last date of withdrawal of nominations was February 3, 2026 (Tuesday). This ward voted on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 and the counting of votes is happening on Friday, February 13, 2026.

PAST ELECTION RESULTS

The last Wanaparthy Municipality elections were held in 2020, in which the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) won 21 seats. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured 2 seats, while the Indian National Congress (INC) claimed 5 seats. The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) won no seats, and Independent candidates obtained 4 seats.
