Thane: An image of an apparently unstable part of a concrete parapet wall of the under-construction Metro 4 line at Anand Nagar, Ghodbunder highway went viral Wednesday evening sparking concern among residents and motorists who feared a possible repeat of the LBS Marg Mulund tragedy in February.The Thane regional disaster management cell that was alerted about the same, promptly informed the Metro team that rushed to the spot and assured that the part was already fully secured.“The supporting stitch for parapets is already complete and are in safe condition. The mismatch or gap seen from outer side is superficial and does not affect functional performance of the parapet. The structure is entirely safe,” clarified a MMRDA official.
