Thiruvananthapuram: BJP state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Monday said attempts to compromise the security of Z+ category VIPs during their visit to Keralam would cost the state dearly.Chandrasekhar was apparently referring to the black flag protest by Youth Congress workers against Union home minister Amit Shah and the intrusion of two youngsters into the vehicle convoy of Vice-President C P Radhakrishnan during their recent visits to Keralam. He said such incidents could badly affect Centre-state relations.Calling the black flag protest against Shah a political drama and the security breach during Vice-President’s visit an incident of a serious nature, Chandrasekhar said such incidents could send out a negative message. “Such incidents could strain Centre-State relations, or at the least create the impression that relations are poor. That perception could affect investment and job creation in the state,” he said.“The victims of such low-grade politics won’t be politicians but ordinary Malayalis. Politicians won’t bear the consequences, while ordinary people waiting for development will suffer again and again,” he said.
