Kanpur: The Vineet Minocha murder case is taking a new turn with each passing day. In the latest twist, family members of the alleged mastermind, daughter-in-law Shalu Minocha, have claimed that she is innocent and demanded an impartial police investigation into the case.Her elder brother, Dheeraj Arora, and sister, Sonia Mehrotra, alleged that Shalu shared cordial relations with her father-in-law and looked after his dietary needs because he had diabetes. They described her as a good daughter-in-law, wife and mother who kept the family together.Dheeraj said Shalu has been inconsolable in jail for the past three days and is longing to see her son. He said he met her twice, during which she repeatedly asked about her son and husband, who, he alleged, have not visited her in jail so far.When asked why one of the accused, Vishal, named Shalu after the encounter, Dheeraj said police would have to determine the reason, adding that his sister was also surprised by the allegation.He claimed that Subrat had given Vishal’s phone number to Shalu so she could contact him for minor household work, and that she knew him only as a staff member.Shalu’s sister also refuted claims that she was not given adequate household expenses, saying she received additional money whenever required and faced no restrictions.
