New Delhi: Delhi Assembly’s budget session will start with a kheer ceremony on Monday , after which chief minister Rekha Gupta is likely to table Delhi’s Economic Survey in the House, officials said.Earlier in the day, leader of opposition Atishi said that AAP MLAs will boycott the session if the speaker does not revoke the suspension of four party MLAs.The four AAP MLAs are chief whip Sanjeev Jha, Jarnail Singh , Kuldeep Kumar and Somdutt. They were suspended in the session held in Jan, for “disrupting” House proceedings. Their suspension continues as the previous sitting of the House was not prorogued.Officials said the four were suspended for the whole session and their suspension will be lifted if the budget session is properly prorogued.Atishi, in a letter to speaker Vijender Gupta, has raised concerns over the ruling BJP’s treatment towards AAP MLAs, saying that it was not in line with democratic values or established legislative procedures. She said the speaker should take cognisance of these concerns and ensure that the Assembly functions in accordance with established legislative traditions.Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva said Atishi is unable to digest that for the first time bills are being passed in the assembly, and questions of public importance and issues pertaining to Delhi are being raised. “AAP govt only used the Assembly to give political speeches instead of understanding the issues of Delhi and forming policies to run Delhi in an efficient way,” Sachdeva said. The chief minister who also holds the finance portfolio , will table her second annual budget on March 24.She presented her maiden budget worth Rs 1 lakh crore last year. The first day of the session will also witness the tabling of various reports of the Controller and Auditor General (CAG) related to the audit of Delhi’s finances, revenue, children in need of care, Delhi Jal Board, among others. The reports of the public accounts committee and privileges committee could also be tabled. The members will also raise issues of their constituencies under Rule 280, the list of business of the House says.AAP MLAs are also likely to raise the issue of recent fire incidents during the session.
