Ludhiana: The Directorate of Extension Education at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) organised a one-day training programme on clean milk production and value addition for 56 women dairy entrepreneurs.The initiative aimed to strengthen technical knowledge, practical skills, and income-generating capabilities among rural women engaged in dairy farming.Technical sessions focused on scientific herd management, preventive health care, hygienic milk handling, and setting up mini processing units. Experts guided participants on product diversification, premium dairy items, marketing, and profitable business models.As part of the practical training, participants visited the university’s milk plant and processing chain to observe scientific processing techniques firsthand.“Empowering women dairy entrepreneurs with scientific knowledge, practical skills and entrepreneurial capabilities can help improve the quality of dairy products, enhance household incomes and create sustainable livelihood opportunities in rural areas,” said Dr JPS Gill, vice-chancellor of the university.
