Ludhiana: Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) organised a hands-on workshop on “Echocardiography in Pets and Livestock” at its department of veterinary medicine to boost the cardiac diagnostic skills of veterinary professionals.The programme provided veterinary officers from the Punjab department of animal husbandry with direct exposure to image acquisition, identification of cardiac structures, and non-invasive evaluation of heart function in companion animals and livestock. Expert faculty delivered practical demonstrations throughout the sessions.University officials highlighted the role of continuous clinical education in enhancing overall animal healthcare. Dr Sushma Chhabra, head of the department, noted that echocardiography allows veterinarians to make timely, accurate clinical decisions for cardiovascular conditions. Dr Swaran Singh Randhawa, dean of the College of Veterinary Science, added that practical training in advanced diagnostics is vital to building strong clinical competencies.“Continuing education and capacity-building initiatives are vital for keeping veterinary professionals updated regarding modern diagnostic and therapeutic techniques,” said VC Dr JPS Gill.
