Thiruvananthapuram: Vice-chancellor of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University Ciza Thomas, who is also holding the charge of vice-chancellor of Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, has lodged a complaint alleging that a group of students assaulted her, mentally harassed her and obstructed her from discharging official duties at the Sanskrit University.In her complaint, Thomas alleged that the students also damaged her official vehicle and attacked members of the university syndicate and her personal staff who were accompanying her.Thomas had informed governor Rajendra Arlekar about the alleged attack. She told the governor that despite the presence of police on the spot, adequate precautionary measures were not taken to protect her and the syndicate members.After meeting the governor, Thomas lodged the complaint on Sunday. She alleged that students from outside the university were also among those who took part in the attack.The complaint has been submitted to chief minister V D Satheesan, home minister Ramesh Chennithala, higher education minister Roji M John, state police chief and higher education secretary.
