Gandhinagar: Speaking on a non-govt resolution on the Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Grameen), or the VB-GRAMG scheme, state minister Rushikesh Patel said the implementation of the scheme will lay the foundation of Viksit Bharat.Patel said that under this scheme, rural workers are guaranteed a minimum of 125 days of employment annually. The scheme emphasises not only labour but also the construction of permanent and sustainable assets like paved roads, Amrit Sarovars, anganwadis, panchayat buildings, and check dams in villages.Speaking during discussion on the resolution, Congress MLA Jignesh Mevani said that the BJP-led Union govt renamed the MNREGA scheme as VB-GRAMG, but Gujarat should take the lead in the country to increase daily wages of beneficiaries of the scheme from Rs 250 to Rs 400 per day.He alleged that large-scale irregularities were found in MNREGA projects in some districts of the state in the recent months. “Congress party demands a CBI probe into all such cases,” he said.
