Sambalpur: In a major rehabilitation initiative, the Sambalpur district administration on Thursday distributed Record of Rights (RoR) to 35 inmates of childcare institutions, providing each of them with four decimals of homestead land under the Vasundhara scheme.The land parcels, located in Paramanpur under Maneswar block, were allotted to help the beneficiaries secure a permanent place to live and support their long-term rehabilitation and social integration.The pattas were distributed during the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan programme held at Gangadhar Meher University auditorium. The beneficiaries were drawn from childcare institutions managed by the District Child Protection Unit under the women and child development department, including Utkal Balashram, Dhankauda, Rukmini Lath Bal Niketan and Dr Isaac Santra Balniketan.Addressing the gathering, Sambalpur collector Sidheswar Baliram Bondar highlighted the administration’s focus on both individual empowerment and community development. He said work orders were being issued to over 650 families in the Sambalpur Municipal Corporation area under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (urban), with each beneficiary eligible for financial assistance of around Rs 2.75 lakh.Rural development, panchayati raj and drinking water minister Rabi Narayan Naik, who attended the programme as chief guest, said the Centre and the state govt were working in tandem towards building a self-reliant and developed India by 2047.Sambalpur MP Dharmendra Pradhan, the chief speaker at the event, distributed welfare assistance among beneficiaries and reiterated the government’s commitment to good governance based on the principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas”.
