Bokaro: A CNG-powered passenger van, which was en route from Patna to Giridih district, caught fire on the Giridih-Maheshmunda main road near Pandeydih Moad under Muffasil police station on Saturday, reducing it to ashes. The driver narrowly escaped after jumping out of the vehicle.According to driver Mithilesh Kumar, the vehicle was carrying a mobile tower transformer and other equipment from Patna. He claimed that a sudden explosion in the CNG cylinder triggered the blaze.All personal items, including his mobile phone and cash kept inside the vehicle, were destroyed in the fire, leaving him stranded. Preliminary reports suggest a possible CNG cylinder blast, though officials have not confirmed the exact cause. Officer in-charge Shayam Mahto of Muffasil police station said a detailed investigation is underway to determine the cause of the incident.
