Vadodara: Vadodara Municipal Corporation councillor Deepa Shrivastav has sought a 15-day response from Vadodara Gas Limited (VGL) over the allocation of LNG stations at Por, Waghodia and Asoj. She has questioned the selection process, due diligence and possible links between the companies awarded the stations.VGL allocated the stations to LNG Express India Pvt Ltd and LNG Express (Global) Pvt Ltd. According to Shrivastav, Registrar of Companies records show that the directors of both companies and Cryogas Equipment Pvt Ltd are the same. She also cited an ongoing legal dispute between Cryogas and INOX for alleged copyright infringement of proprietary engineering drawings and works related to cryogenics and LNG semi-trailers. Vadodara Commercial Court passed an interim injunction in favour of INOX on June 11, 2025, while Gujarat High Court declined to interfere with the order on July 7, 2026. Shrivastav has asked VGL to clarify whether the dispute has any bearing on the allocations or related assets.According to Shrivastav, VGL’s replies to her representations dated July 1, Aug 20 and Oct 9 did not adequately address her concerns over common directorships, the selection process and due diligence. She has also written to the VMC, GAIL and the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board. She has sought details on whether the stations were allotted through a competitive process and, if not, the policy and approvals governing the decisions. She has also asked for information on statutory clearances, including those from the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation, where applicable, and utilisation agreements covering asset ownership, tenure and charges.Referring to VGL’s expression of interest for a station at Dabhoi, Shrivastav said the selection process for the three earlier locations remained unclear. If VGL fails to provide a satisfactory response within 15 days, she plans to raise the matter before the VMC General Board or Standing Committee and explore other legal remedies.
