T’puram: V A Arun Kumar, son of former chief minister V S Achuthanandan, has said that his family would go by the party’s stand on receiving the Padma Vibhushan honour. In a social media post, Arun Kumar said the family’s decision is in line with the party’s stand and that Achuthanandan’s place in the hearts of the people is bigger than any award. However, CPM is yet to take an official stand on this. When party state secretary M V Govindan welcomed the award, party general secretary M A Baby was of the view that if Achuthanandan was alive he would not have accepted the award.
